It’s that time of the year again when we bid farewell to Filipinas who will represent our country in international beauty tilts abroad. In October alone, three prestigious global pageants will take place, and considering Pia Wurtzbach’s triumph as reigning Miss Universe, the pressure to win is at its greatest now for Bb. Pilipinas winners. Each is expected to compete at her best in hopes to make waves in the global pageant scene.
Earlier today, a triple send-off was hosted by the Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Inc. (BPCI) at Monet 2 of Novotel Manila Araneta Center. It was attended by members of the press, along with a few friends and family members of the queens who were there to give their well wishes to the queens. The Bb. Pilipinas winners Kylie Verzosa, Jennifer Hammond, and Nicole Cordoves looked stunning as they confidently answered questions thrown at them by the media. The ladies left quite an impression, especially during the Q&A portion.
Lovely Asian beauty Kylie, who will attempt to bring home the 6th Miss International crown on October 27, flaunted her toned body and shared how excited she was to enjoy the beauty of Japan and immerse in its culture. She knew that the pageant is looking for someone who is prim and proper and fittingly so because Miss International pageant is in search of women who can be “Ambassadors of Peace and Beauty”. The pageant’s goal is to promote world peace, goodwill, and understanding.
As for Jennifer, who is set to compete in the Miss Intercontinental pageant on October 16 in Sri Lanka, she did a lot of reading to prepare for the pageant. She focused on studying about Sri Lanka and its people, their practices, traditions and religion so she can adapt best to the liking of the locals. She said this was her game plan for winning a competition that has been on the lookout for empowered women from various sectors of society.
Nicole, on the other hand, who sported a fierce vibe with her green flowy dress, shared how competing in Las Vegas has been a dream come true for her. She also said that she wholeheartedly supports the pageant’s advocacy, which is to end all forms of violence and hostility by spreading the message of happiness with the slogan, “Stop War and Violence.” She is set to compete in the Miss Grand International pageant on October 25.
The event will not be complete without the presence of their fellow beauty queens, Runners-Up Jehza Huelar and Angelica Alita, Bb. Pilipinas Globe Nichole Manalo, Bb Pilipinas Supranational Joanna Eden, and Miss Universe Philippines Maxine Medina, who gave them words of encouragement.
October will surely be an exciting month for pageant fans. Good luck ladies!
